When determining the correct cable length for your application, be sure to add the distance from the center of the engine to the bilge area through the rigging tube, from that point to the gunnel (usually starboard) where the cables will run to the console, the length of the gunnel or rigging tube, and the distance from the gunnel to the console where the remote control box will be located—then add two feet. This extra distance will allow for any errors in measurement and ensure sufficient bend radius for smooth, easy shifting.
The base part number is MAR-CABLE-XX-SC and cables are available in predetermined lengths.
XX is the length in feet. Available lengths include 4' through 30' in foot-long increments (except 5'), and 32' through 40' in two-toot-long increments. For example, to order a Premier II cable 9' long, order MAR-CABLE-09-SC.
To order one length of your specific cable, type in the part number substituting your length for XX below. If you need more than one cable, return to this page after adding the cable to the shopping cart.
PREMIER II" CABLES are a tough act to follow. Yamaha engineers designed them to provide smoother operation_ more strength and less bend radius than ordinary cables. A unique "plastic-on-plastic" construction and a splined inner core dramatically reduce friction and end play. The UV-stabilized jacket resists cracking for added water resistance and long life. And rigorous testing ensures that they meet our stringent tension standards.
Yamaha-reliable and exceedingly durable, Premier cables meet or exceed all ABYC requirements for marine applications. Because they're matched to your Yamaha outboard, you know they are precisely dimensioned for a perfect fit. All in all, there are no control cables on the market remotely like them.
